Sui, the Italian solo developer behind this, is actually in it — sitting at his desk in pixel form, narrating events and needling you as you go. He set out to make a horror game and couldn't stop cracking jokes, so what arrived instead is a point-and-click adventure where the fourth wall is basically scenery. This first episode, "Here Be Dragons," follows Roger, a morally dubious boy dodging the law in the 18th century, from a pirate village out to open water where the ghost business finally starts. The puzzles are classic adventure fare, plus meta-puzzles built to expose the foolishness of the man who wrote them, and your choices decide how things end. Worth knowing before you buy: this is episode one of the Ghost In The Mirror anthology, and the later ones are sold separately. Crude, warm, and much funnier than the title lets on.
