Plants vs. Zombies™

A zombie pole-vaults clean over the Wall-nut you spent your last sun on, and suddenly the lane you thought was solved is the one that loses you the house. That is the shape of most defeats here. Fifty Adventure levels move you through daylight, night, fog, a swimming pool and a rooftop, and each setting quietly rewrites which of your 49 plants is worth the space, because sun is limited and a wasted Peashooter is a wasted ten seconds. Twenty-six zombie types each behave differently, and the Almanac exists so you can study them instead of guessing. Survival mode drops the level structure and just keeps sending waves. Coins buy power-ups and a pet snail, and you can also buy coins outright in packs up to 600,000, which is easy enough to ignore if you would rather earn them. Fifteen years on, the lane math still holds up.
